Programs

Mu Gamma Gamma holds various quarterly, monthly, and annual events throughout the community. While some programs are mandated by our Fraternity, others have simply become local traditions towards which we always look forward. Through these actions, we create memories, encourage fellowship, and provide a safe space for our community members in Central Jersey.

Adopt-A-Road

For over 30 years, MGG has adopted a large portion of road (Franklin Blvd. to JFK Blvd.) along Hamilton Street in Somerset, NJ. Once a quarter, MGG will come together to provide a critical cleanup to one of the busiest roadways in town. Not only does this program keep our community clean and neighbors happy, but it also allows brothers to fellowship and get their steps in!

Talent Hunt

A nationally mandated program for our Fraternity, our Talent Hunt program is an exciting place for young performers! Each year, chapters are encouraged to host this event for local high schoolers, showcasing their unique skills in music or the arts. Top winners receive monetary prizes and exposure to the community. The first-place winner will also receive a paid trip to our fraternity's 2nd District Conference (which includes NJ, NY, PA, DE, and MD) to compete for an even larger prize against winners from other talent hunts.

Third Thursday

Since 2008, MGG has partnered with Delta's Restaurant, a local Black-owned restaurant in New Brunswick, NJ, to host our monthly Third Thursday event. This event combines fundraising with fellowship to help provide scholarships to high school and college students from across Central Jersey (primarily Somerset and Middlesex counties), collect toys for donation at St. Peter's Hospital (New Brunswick, NJ), and provide nourishing food items around the holidays. As an after-work mixer with our resident disc jockey, DJ Moneta-Kai, the community is guaranteed to enjoy this evening full of soul food and fun heading into the weekend.

40th Anniversary Gala

On October 15, 2025, the Mu Gamma Gamma chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. celebrated a major milestone: our 40th anniversary! This celebration became the largest event ever hosted by MGG, with over 200 community members in attendance. This included high-ranking Fraternity members, politicians from various Central Jersey municipalities, numerous Divine Nine chapters, representatives from our community partners, and of course, friends and family of MGG chapter members.
